When I first saw this I thought, “Well, she’s just doing a rip-off of the gal from Missing Persons, and her guitar player is a Billy Zane wannabe. Then I realized the song came out in 1979, and suddenly the gal from Missing Persons is a Lene Lovich wannabe, and the guitar player is the inspiration for Billy Zane’s look. (Maybe he’s Billy’s older brother, Jimmy Zane?) My biggest question is how do you pronounce “Lene?” Is it “lean?” Is it “Lee-knee?” Is it “Lenny?” Is it “LeNae?” Perhaps “Burt?” Inquiring minds want to know!
