105. Cue the goat!

105. "Rapture" by Blondie

I have a very specific memory of this song. I remember sitting by myself in the truck in the dark in front of my house listening to this song on the radio and thinking to myself, "What is this rap thing she's doing? I like it! I wonder if it will ever become popular?"

The video for this song is what happens when an MTV video producer rents a really big writers' room and invites musicians, DJs, department store mannequin dressers, hookers, graffiti artists, spray paint lobbyists, fashion designers, top hat manufacturers, Uncle Sam, a hissing-shirtless-black-dude wearing white pants and a war bonnet, potted plant sellers, people needing to use a public phone, ballerinas, furriers, goat herders, hopping kilt-makers, stiff-necked police officers, line dancers, coat checkers, homeless dentists, and flashing-red-light-sunglasses wholesalers to all gather at the writer's table and spend the evening snorting cocaine.
